There’s nothing that builds a team faster than life-or-paint situations. On Monday evening, the LiveRez team literally had a blast at our paintball event here in Boise.
A couple things we learned from our paintball adventure on Monday:
Paintballs hurt.
It is possible to get eliminated in less than 3 seconds (just ask paintball magnets Tyler and Rob).
Don’t get the big bowl at Mongolian Grill before paintballing. It makes you slower (see point 2).
GoPro + Paintball = Awesome (thanks Heather and Justin for wearing the GoPro helment).

LiveRez Partners with 1,000th Professional Manager
On Nov. 23, LiveRez partnered with its 1,000th professional vacation rental manager. What made this milestone so special for us was how it was done. In contrast to many of our main competitors which have grown through mergers, acquisitions and consolidation, LiveRez’s growth has been 100 percent organic.
Second Annual Partner Conference
In its second year, the LiveRez Partner Conference grew by leaps and bounds. Attendance nearly doubled from the first year, as professional managers came in droves to Sun Valley, Idaho from all across North America for five unforgettable days. Boise Chambers Awards LiveRez the 2015 Travel Industry Excellence Award
This year LiveRez took home the Boise Metro Chamber’s 2015 Travel Industry Excellence Award. One of the biggest highlights of the day was LiveRez CEO Tracy Lotz’s acceptance speech. We may be a little biased, but we think it was easily the best of the awards banquet (and if the buzz on Twitter was any indication, we think others agreed).
LiveRez Releases Game-Changing New Technology
2015 was a huge year for new technology at LiveRez, and 2016 is going to be even bigger. At our Partner Conference in October we dedicated a whole session to the new and upcoming technologies at LiveRez. We kicked off the presentation by debuting the video below.
Partners Steal the Show at VRMA 2015
Just days after the Partner Conference, we headed to the 2015 VRMA Annual Conference in New Orleans. But, when it came time for our gold sponsor speech in front of the entire conference, we decided to let out partners do the talking. It resulted in a moment we’ll never forget.
American Flag Profile Photo Creator App Goes Viral
LiveRez CEO Tracy Lotz is one of the most patriotic people you’ll ever meet. His gift to the world this past Fourth of July was a tool that allowed anyone to overlay an American flag over their profile photo on their social media channels. The tool went viral, with hundreds of thousands of people using it in just days. In the video below, Tracy tells a local television reporter the story behind the app.
LiveRez Partners with Full Circle Exchange to Empower Women to Rise Above Poverty
Giving back is a big priority here at LiveRez. So, when we were introduced to Full Circle Exchange – a nonprofit that empowers women to rise above poverty – we were instantly inspired by the work they do and wanted to help. Multiple LiveRez employees started volunteering hours, and LiveRez become a corporate sponsor. Full Circle Exchange CEO Mark Priddy even spoke at our Partner Conference. If you haven’t seen his speech, check it out below. It’s a moving testament to the incredible work they do.
LiveRez Adds New Team Members
Legendary UCLA Mens Basketball Coach John Wooden once said: “The star of the team is the team.” And, that couldn’t be truer at LiveRez. This year we added many amazing new members to our team that helped us have one of the best years on record. But 2015 wasn’t all work for the team; we did get out and have a little fun, as you can see in the video below of our recent Christmas party.
LiveRez Holds Workshops at Corporate Headquarters
This year LiveRez really kicked up its education program. A big part of that was offering two different training workshops at its corporate headquarters in Boise. Managers came from all over the US to get hands on training from the LiveRez team. This was in addition to annual Partner Conference and the hundreds of live webinars given throughout the year.

On Monday, LiveRez played host to a special group of local students. Tom Holdridge’s computer class from Boise’s Bishop Kelly High School took a field trip to LiveRez to learn more about what a career in technology is like.
The group toured the LiveRez headquarters, getting to see every department within the company. Then, they were treated to a presentation from the LiveRez development team. Spearheaded by LiveRez VP of Development Casey Riley and his team, the presentation covered different technology career options and gave the students insight into what different LiveRez developers do on a daily basis, as well as the types of technology they use.
This is one of many classes Holdridge has brought to LiveRez over the years. In fact, in the past LiveRez has even hired some of his former students as summer interns.

Idaho Governor Butch Otter with LiveRez CEO Tracy Lotz during Otter’s visit to LiveRez Headquarters on Monday, Nov. 3.
Idaho Governor Butch Otter visited the LiveRez Headquarters in Eagle, ID on Monday. During his hour-long visit, the governor toured the company’s new offices, met LiveRez employees and visiting partners, and received a special hand-crafted copper medallion as a special thanks for speaking at the inaugural LiveRez Partner Conference this September.
While the medallions that were made for LiveRez partners showcased their partner number, the medallion made for Otter simply said “#1 Governor.” That sentiment rang true the day after his visit, as Otter was elected to this third consecutive term as Idaho Governor.

Inaugural event leaves many attendees calling it the “best conference they’ve ever attended”

EAGLE, Id. –– LiveRez.com – the most widely used cloud-based software platform for professional vacation rental managers – announced new technology and showcased a strong commitment to its vacation rental manager partners at its inaugural partner conference, Sept. 7-12 in Boise, ID.
The conference – which drew more than 225 attendees from across the United States and as far away as Australia – left many calling it the best vacation rental industry conference they’ve ever attended.
“The LiveRez Conference exceeded my expectations on every level,” said Carol Smith of JFR Beach Rentals in Panama City Beach, FL. “I have been both a participant and facilitator at several conferences in the past, and I can honestly say that I have never been a part of a conference that was executed so well.”
The week-long event was stacked with big name speakers and major technology announcements.
Keynotes speakers included Priceline Chief Marketing Officer Brett Keller and Olympic Gold Medalist Dick Fosbury. The conference also saw a number of special guests, such as Idaho Governor Butch Otter, Boise Mayor David Bieter and Idaho Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Luna.
The company also announced a host of new technology innovations, including its landmark project iVacationRental.com, a new industry portal that features only professionally managed inventory that is 100 percent bookable online in real time.
Other technology announcements included: a new mobile housekeeping and maintenance app, which features Google Glass technology; a state-of-the-art interactive reservation grid; responsive infrastructure for partner websites; updates to the company’s QuickBooks integration; search by map functionality for partner websites; and much more!
Additionally, the conference included a broad range of educational and networking opportunities. The first half of the week focused on larger breakout educational sessions and roundtable discussions, and the latter half moved into smaller, more specific workshops at LiveRez headquarters. Key among the topics discussed in the educational sessions was a strategy to decrease partners’ reliance on listing sites like HomeAway/VRBO.
Each night was capped with a spectacular reception, from an epic party and live band at the tiki-bar themed Reef restaurant in downtown Boise to a formal dinner to honor LiveRez partners at the top floor of Idaho’s tallest building. Monday night’s reception was especially heartfelt, as the company gave each partner a copper medallion highlighting their partner number, hand crafted by local artisan Delia Dante.
“From the moment we kicked off the conference with a prayer and the pledge of allegiance to the last workshop on Friday, I couldn’t have been happier with how the conference turned out,” said Tracy Lotz, LiveRez CEO. “I can’t wait until next year, when it will return even bigger and better.”

LiveRez commissioned local artist Delia Dante of Fire Fusion Studio to create one-of-a-kind medallions to give to partners as gifts at the 2014 LiveRez Partner Conference.
Monday night at the 2014 LiveRez Partner Conference, we were thrilled to present our partners in attendance with one-of-a-kind copper medallions from local artist Delia Dante of Fire Fusion Studio in Boise, ID.
Dante made all of the medallions by hand, starting with a solid sheet of copper. Each medallion went through a multi-stage process of refinement until the beautiful finished product was complete. Each medallion was customized to the partner, with a unique partner number which represents how long they have been using LiveRez. Dante further customized each medallion with colors from the partner’s website and branding. The finished products were beautiful, unique pieces of art that will now make their way from Boise all across the United States and abroad.
These gorgeous partner gifts were given out at LiveRez’s Monday evening reception to honor LiveRez partners. The event was hosted in downtown Boise at the top floor of the Zions Bank Building – the largest building in all of Idaho.

The 2014 LiveRez Partner Conference is in full swing. Yesterday, we kicked off Day 1 of the conference with Director of Partner Success Sharon Clark leading us in the pledge of allegiance and Director of Support and Implementation Tina Upson leading the group in prayer.
Then, we were honored to have two special guests for the morning session. Idaho Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Luna gave the welcome address. And, Priceline Chief Marketing Officer Brett Keller gave the keynote address and stayed for a special Q/A session. We had a number of great breakout educational sessions, and a series of great round table discussions. The night was capped off with an amazing dinner at the top floor of Idaho’s tallest building, the Zions Bank Building.
